Together we can change the world
Shields of Faith is a compassionate nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and healing to individuals and communities affected by trauma and crime. We understand the profound impact these experiences can have and are committed to helping victims and communities rebuild. We envision a world where victims of trauma and crime are supported, empowered, and able to heal through comprehensive support systems. By amplifying the voices of the marginalized and amplifying the power of collective action, Shields of Faith will continue to strive to create safe, secure, and resilient communities where all people are empowered to live fulfilling lives.
With our partnerships and relationships with Law Enforcement, Chaplains, and communities, Shields of Faith bridges the gap between life experiences and wellness. No matter what the circumstance, whether happy or tragic, we have the experience, training, and skills to help others navigate their journeys.
Our Chaplains are not religious leaders, nor part of a particular denomination. Shields of Faith is bound only by the duty of serving the community and individual needs with openness, care, and without judgment or prejudice. We respect all those we attend to, even though there may be profound differences in race, gender, economic status, and religious experiences. Available at any hour, for any reason, big or small, rain or shine, Shields of Faith has one thing in mind, you.
Chaplains vs. Pastors
Most people are under the belief that Chaplains and Pastors are the same, yet they are quite the opposite. A Pastor's ministry deals with Church based issues (In-Reach). The Chaplain on-the other-hand is Community based (OutReach). Think of a Chaplain as a "Minister in the Workplace," their Church is everywhere, what we refer to as the Community. Chaplains are nonrestricted to who they help and will serve people of all Faiths. A Chaplain is the bridge between the Secular and the Sacred, or in other words, Community and the Church. Our Chaplains work with people of all Faiths and Spiritual backgrounds. They have a non-denominational approach and identify/respond to each situation accordingly.
